LunaLani the Starlifter Secrets of Magic Island
Summary
Review
Setting aside the dynamic beats of the book for a moment, what I really like is how the book came about. After the author had researched modern day avians flying across oceans for days at a time, he came to know them as modern day wonders, perhaps superheroes would not be an exaggeration given their GPS version was developed millions of years ago. Studying their abilities and flock family behavior, LunaLani and her flock were born in another time, in another place.
These hybrid birds and even a much smaller non-bird hybrid were doing their thing, savoring the good flock life in the Pacific and keeping a low profile for their own safety from super nutty and enjoyable fierce apex predators that are tech savvy as well as another powerful force that is scary cool creepy that fears LunaLani’s power. A power beyond, a true superpower superhero.
Advanced way beyond current technology. As if current technology resembles pre-prehistoric levels. LunaLani’s powerful tech exceeds her adversaries but she and the flock are still flesh and blood and vulnerable. While the flock seeks peace, when engaged by forces that never could acknowledge the flock’s right to even live, and are pushed, terrorized! And goal in mind to hurt them then kill them. LunaLani gets the flock up and mobilized, a fight she had been avoiding the inevitable for hundreds of years. LunaLani and flock never backs down! They will go to the extremes of the unknown and beyond to fight back those that wish to destroy them and lose the only place they called home.
But what can LunaLani do when she loses everything? And lost love? What kind of power does LunaLani really have? Ultimate power. Ever known. And the the Power of Love driving her.
We can only hope to see future iterations to visit her world again because it takes you somewhere, away from mendacity. The far reaches of the mind are explored. A rogue and crazy journey as LunaLani and the flock has something to say about what a family can do together, stronger, as one.
